NEW MOON monologue

This I wrote one night, attempting to sketch the cover of Stephanie Meyer's New Moon. If anybody reads this, you may or may not know that I am a lover of the theatre. For you Twilight fans, (my father calls us "Twinkies,") you will enjoy this! The speaker is Alice Cullen, she is speaking to Bella. *SPOILER ALERT* It is from Chapter 19, "The Race" which is the chapter that Alice and Bella are on their way to Italy to save Edward Cullen. It is the first monologue I have created, although it's not from my own mind.

Speaker: Alice Cullen, speaking to first Jasper, and then to Bella
Setting: On a plane

[On the phone]
"I can't be sure, I keep seeing him do different things, he keeps changing his mind... A killing spree through the city, attacking the guard, lifting a car over his head in the main square... mostly things that would expose them- he knows that's the fastest way to force a reaction... [Waits as Jasper speaks on the other line]
"No, you cant. (Whispering) Tell Emmett no... Well, go after Emmett and Rosalie and bring them back... Think about it, Jasper. If he sees any of us, what do you think he will do?
[nods]
"Exactly. I think Bella is the only chance- if there is a chance.... I'll do everything that can be done, but prepare Carlisle; the odds arent good.
[laughs]
"I've thought about that.... Yes, I promise. (Pleading) Don't follow me. I promise, Jasper. One way or another, I'll get out.... And I love you.
[Eyes closed, leaning back in seat]
"I hate lying to him. Two reasons. The first I told him. We could try to stop Edward ourselves- if Emmett could get his hands on him, we might be able to stop him long enought to convince him you're alive. But we can't sneak up on Edward. And if he sees us coming for him, he'll just act that much faster. He'll throw a Buick through a wall or something, and the Volturi will take him down.
"That's the second reason, of course, the reason I couldn't say to Jasper. Because if they're there and the Volturi kill Edward, they'll fight them. Bella.
[opens eyes]
"If there were any chance we could win.... if there were a way that the four of us could save my brother by fighting for him, maybe it would be different. But we can't, and, Bella, I can't lose Jasper like that."

"The Race." New Moon. Meyer. Pg 425-426. Little, Brown and Co. 2006.

Thanks to Stephanie Meyer for writing such a wonderful book, and thanks Mrs. McGarvey of the Flathead High School Theatre Department for educating me in the theatre as well as Ms. Moody and Mr. Hashley.

My Lame December the 29

I wrote this one night while I was very sick. I was so bored and my boyfriend was ignoring me cause he had to watch a stupid Terminator movie. It was quite lame and pathetic. So I wrote a poem. It technically takes place on December the 28, but as I say in the poem, I was tired and bored. Not to mention I was really, really sick.

It's half-past midnight.
The day is now December the 29.
I'm tired and bored
But my man is still wide awake
Watching some lame-ass Terminator movie.
I wish I could be all warm,
Tucked snuggly in my bed,
Him next to me, my head on his chest
While his heart beats lullabies;
Singing me to sleep.
But no, I write poetry instead.
My day was long.
I just read all day
About "living impaired" hooking up with the living.
My head pounded and ached.
I ate a bowl of Golden Grahams.
My cat, she did save me,
From an itsy, bitsy spider
By nomming on it whole.
Not to be a whiner,
But I just ached...
The whole flippin' day.
An oober hot shower
Made me feel just a little bit better.
I went back to reading
My teen romance-supposed-to-be-horror-ish book
Wishing the spinning
Would just disapparate.
8 O' Clock came.
My boyfriend would be off work soon.
To dizzy to drive, but not wanting him to walk,
I compromised and walked to him.
We stopped at a grocery store on our way home.
Grabbed a frozen pizza
And his mom called.
She requested that additional people
At our home, be gone!
Then the boyfriend wanted a movie.
That stupid Terminator movie
Was the one he grabbed.
I complained,
So he grabbed Star Trek, too.
We came home and kicked the extras out.
My man put in the pizza
And Captain James T. Kirk as well.
I ate a slice and a half.
Now I feel like a nerd,
But I guess that's cool.
Nerds will someday rule the world!
The movie is still playing
And I'm at the end of my day.
A poem, two pages long, (on paper that is.)
Wow, some life I have.

What Am I?

I come in miniature glass bottles.
Various, colors, shades, and hues.
I can complete your outfit.
But if you're not careful,
I can stain anything I touch.
I'm used by all your girlfriends,
At all your girly slumber parties.
I'm shiny, dark, bright.
But the question is now...
Can you guess what I am?
